Deception Island

Deception Island is a Caldera where it is located the spanish base "Gabriel de Castilla". This is a volcanic island quite similar to our Lanzarote Island but in cold. We had to leave some researchers on the island, jointly with diverse material and food. While all the provisions were transported to land, our scientific crew made a trip to see the large population of penguins reproducing on the island. Below some pictures of the antarctic fauna.
